The Paint Systems Specialist will be responsible for executing major equipment and systems cleaning during short or extended paint shop down times; managing Non-Production materials for all FCA North America Paint Shops. The Specialist strategically works with all levels of paint shop management to develop cleaning plans/schedules, and with Manufacturing Engineering, Indirect Purchasing to develop equipment and major system cleaning specifications and frequencies. The person in this position writes Scope of Works (SOW) for new equipment/system cleaning projects plus develops bid packages/specifications and collaborates with Purchasing to competitively quote equipment/paint systems cleaning projects. The Paint Systems Specialist has complete responsibility to manage Non-Production materials program and TBM Vendors, program cost and TBM day-to-day activities in the entire paint shop. This position maintains and updates approved non-production materials for paint shops, Technical Cleaning SOW, tasks frequencies files and reports on TBM Vendor performance. The Specialist is responsible for paint shop dirt analyst work and tracks the overall TBM Vendor continuous improvement initiatives to contain program cost. The Paint Systems Specialist enforces Safety rules, lockout procedures, etc. for all TBM temporary or permanent workers.
Bachelors degree in Engineering or other Bachelors degree with 5+ years of paint shop experience
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing paint shops
5+ years manufacturing experience
Previous experience leading a team
Medium to large scale paint shop project experience
Ability to quickly analyze data and generate reports/presentation for management
Understanding of Lean or World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodology
Exceptional leadership and organizational skills
Ability to concisely communicate with the highest levels of plant management
Available to work weekends in support of paint shop activities as needed
Understanding of productive/non-productive paint materials and processes with a strong business background
Strong background managing complex projects
