Global Supply Planner

  • Global personal care products manufacturer recently expanded their Chicago operation and as a result they are adding a Global Supply Planner to the team

  • This role will interface with distribution centers and 3PL s throughout North America and manage and analyze around 750 active SKU s

  • Position will report to the Supply Chain Manager who will be grooming this person to advance to a Senior Supply Chain Planner

  • Key player in the S&OP process, the Senior Inventory Planner uses historical data to create baseline plans, highlight gaps against target budget, and measures accuracy of the forecasts.
  • Monitor and plan inventory levels in North America, and adjust open orders to support purchasing metrics including customer fill rate, inventory turns, premium freight and order change rates.
  • Provide input in developing inventory strategies.
  • Gather, review, and disseminate new product information and product changes to internal departments to ensure accurate product information. Manage item transitions and plans for proper levels of inventory to ensure a smooth transition
  • Accurately maintain product master data, pricing and vendor information in the replenishment system.
  • Analyze and interpret multiple sources of data to determine the best course of action to meet customer specific requirements.
  • Weekly and monthly KPI reporting of production for assigned distribution centers
  • Continuously improve supply planning techniques, method, and approach
  • Perform other related or assigned duties as necessary. (i.e. Running reports, spreadsheets, special projects etc.)


  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or other closely related BS/BA degree is required.
  • Must have 1+ years (or internships) of related supply/demand /capacity/ inventory planning experience within a MRP/ERP manufacturing environment. Previous experience working in a production environment in the Consumer-Packaged Goods industry is preferred.
  • S&OP experience is a plus
  • Intermediate MS Excel and ERP/MRP skills required
  • Proven ability to collect, compile, analyze and present statistical data and concepts to a broad, cross-functional audience.
  • Great communicator and a quick-learner who enjoys analyzing data, problem-solving, and working with cross functional teams.
  • Must have a demonstrable track record of analysis, positive attitude and a desire to learn
