At Worldwide Business Research (WBR), we are searching for a driven entry-level Business Development Representative (BDR) to boost our sponsorship sales revenue for our professional conferences.

You will be selling sponsorship features and functions to VPs, SVPs and C-Suite Executives mainly focusing on qualifying and brokering deals for senior sales managers to close.

The ideal candidate will have a tenacious work ethic and the desire to hone and refine their sales skills. They will exhibit a smooth phone demeanor, charisma, and the ability to think quick on their feet.

Requirements

  • 0 to 3 years of sales or recruitment experience OR no experience required
  • Bachelors in communications, business administration, marketing or some equivalent
  • Unafraid to pick up the phone and converse with people
  • Desire to build relationships with business people from top brands
  • Interest in earning money and learning our sales process
  • Won't get discouraged easily you will face rejection in this role (and in life)
  • Looks forward to being trained, coached and developed


Objectives of this Role:

  • Make 40+ cold and warm calls per day to gain interest from event sponsors
  • Learn and absorb our product inventory frontwards and backwards
  • Explain the benefits and unique value proposition of sponsoring an event
  • Broker 5-10 call-meetings per week for sales managers
  • Respond to inbound event inquires by phone and/or email in a timely fashion
  • Research the events and verticals you will be selling on
  • Track your sales progress in our database CRM
  • Travel to our business events

  • Wants to earn serious moola as a result of time and effort put in
  • Adopt our audience-based sales techniques that are proven (SPIN)
  • You will make the extra call and extra effort if necessary
  • Competitive by nature but supportive and uplifting to others
  • Can be held accountable and depended upon by peers
